7&8 More decorations!

These are just a few more decorations to put up on our shelves.

I'm wishing we had a fireplace mantle right now to solve the stocking debacle we're having.

We're not sure how or where to hang our stockings. 

But while we figure that out I'll show you a few things that we have done.

First is post #7 turn the old black crow frame into something pretty for Christmas.

We originally bought this frame at the thrift store for $1 and painted it black for Halloween along with a few other things. You can see that post here.

I liked that frame so much that I didn't want to pack it up with all of our Halloween decor, so I kept it out and was determined to find a purpose for it.

Here's the frame painted black.

I used Rust-oleum's painters touch, flat, white, spray paint to paint it.

Here's after the first coat.

And I got Levi to print out a design from the computer to fit in the frame.

Here's the finished product.

I didn't really have to do much, but I love the way it turned out!

Christmas post #8 Mia's first gingerbread house.

We bought a gingerbread house kit from Walmart for $9 one evening 

and I was expecting it to be well... cheap. 

To my surprise, it came with so many accessories!

It came with a variety of candy, two bags of green frosting, a big bag of white frosting 

and even some fondant! (that we didn't use)

As you can see, Levi and Mia did all of the work while I was taking pictures.

Not until the end did Mommy get to take part in the fun and add some candy to it.

We added our own sugar sprinkles to it, but other than that, the kit came with everything we needed.

That's another item added to our Christmas shelves.

I'm a little impatient about getting our shelves set up for Christmas.

So far the shelves are chaotic on account of us doing new crafts and not finishing others.

It's getting harder to keep up with everything now that we're throwing Christmas shopping in the mix 

but I'll manage!
