Guest room extravaganza!

Do you ever want to change a room in your house but have no money to do so? I do it frequently, so frequently that my husband no longer tells me no. He just rolls his eyes and knows there's no way he can get around it. After all, he's my muscle. Luckily for us, we have leftover paint, furniture and decorations at our disposal. We're impulse buyers to an extent and every time we spot something that we think is cool, we purchase! For our latest project we decided that it was time to get rid of our home offices and change it into a guest room/office. So with the leftover gray paint from our living room, some furniture purchased from a flea market a few months ago, and a few small accessories that we rearranged, we had a completely different room.

So here's the room, after being painted gray and having all of the clutter moved to the center of the room. Prior to the gray walls, each wall in that room was a different color. Mint green, avocado green, pink and white. I don't know what we were thinking.

This is the dresser that will be going into the guest room, it is being primed and then painted.
Our garage is quite the mess, it's where all of our painting takes place, along with the storage of all of our unused furniture, ceiling fan, lamps, and other junk.

Next the bed is moved in and the rest of the junk will be moved out.
Here's the finished product.
The shelving was put in, the nightstand was painted berry pink and the headboard was painted white.
We thought about using the headboard for our own bed, unfortunately our bed was too big.
Luckily it fit perfectly on this bed.
(side note: Levi wanted me to point out his super cool X-ray light box)
There's not a lot going on in this photo but once we get the curtains up, there will be a whole lot of pattern going on!
Close up of the dresser.
Levi's corner.
Chess pieces.
Nightstand close up.

That pretty much concludes the tour of our new guest room.
Nothing was purchased for this renovation besides berry pink spray paint and white primer.
Of course the room isn't complete without the right curtains, so to the fabric store (or Target) I will go!
$10 bucks worth of spray paint doesn't seem so bad now, does it?
Rustoleum is our paint of choice, Krylon is for suckas.

Before I go, I'll leave you with some eye candy.
Mia with the kitty she takes everywhere.
Her name is Mousetrap.
