Cheap framed maps! (DIY)

My husband and I have been pretty obsessed with maps as of late.
We've seen some really cool maps on Etsy but they were a bit too expensive.
We also found some pretty huge maps at Borders for $9.99 that were awesome!
But this is about a map that you can get for free.
This project was super cheap, and came out even better than I expected.

So here's the map:

That's right, it's a "Complimentary Roadway Map" from Cracker Barrel.
We were checking out and I saw a stack of these babies sitting next to the register.
Have you ever seen these there?
So I grab two (because Levi needs one of course) and make my way to my husband.
Excitedly, I show him the maps and how cool I think they are and I get the "Oh wow, that's... awesome honey."  Of course I knew what he was really thinking, which was "What the heck are we going to do with Cracker Barrel maps? I hope she doesn't want to hang those up in the house."
So I get a little less excited about them and throw them in my purse for about a week or two.
Here's the map opened up.
Pretty cool, right?
I constantly had these maps on my mind, I couldn't figure out what to do with them.
Maybe it was because they were there every time I opened up my purse?
Or because I could picture the unsure look on my husbands face when I first showed them to him?
Either way, I had it in my head that I was going to do something with these maps, damnit!
That's when we go to the dollar store and find these bad boys.

These cute little frames were $1.00
The package included a larger frame with a small frame.
So for all six of these it cost me $3.00
Of course, I bought the black ones instead of the white ones because... well, I don't know why.
But that's okay because I just spray painted them white!

Now you're catching on! I framed the maps!
Of course, it involved cutting one of them up, but hey, it was free!
Here's the finished product:
So what do you think?
Would you try this, or something like it?
Are you going to run out to Cracker Barrel and get your free maps?
I'm very excited about how they came out.
The total cost for this project:
Maps = Free
Frames = $3.00
Spray paint = $3.00
Total = $6.00
You may not have to buy spray paint if you buy frames that are already the color you like.
You also may already have frames that you can use so this project could be completely free.
I've got another DIY up my sleeve coming soon!
