Simple diy

Paint can change the look of almost anything. I'm not just talking about painting walls, I'm talking about home decor for example: frames, furniture, and even light fixtures. I know there are more possibilities for paint, but in this particular post I'm focusing on a mid century dresser purchased from a thrift store that was sitting in our house for over a year until we decided to finally do something with it. ( It seems that's the story for many fixtures in our home) So here's a photo of the dresser in what was once our blue living room and is now our gray living room. (But that transformation will be in another post)
(Excuse the poor quality)
Here is the new dresser serving as our entertainment center.
To me it looks a lot cleaner with the white paint. It may not seem like much of a difference, but it certainly brightens the room.
There are many upcycles and transformations to come, but until then I'm leaving you with a photo of my baby before she went all Barbie, Strawberry Shortcake and Moxie girls on me.
(Not that I don't totally love it!)

  1. OMG I've been looking for a dresser or credenza to do this too! I saw one like it in a magazine and I've been obsessed with the white and natural wood combo ever since. You've inspired me, now I can't wait go to flea market scrounging this weekend!
